I had these shoes already in taupe, and loved them, so decided to order black. I have wide feet, so often shoes feel too tight in the instep area. I wear thesem all the time for hours and hours, with no pain. I even wore them all over Manhattan for 5 days, punding on the pavement with no blisters or sore feet. I wear them without socks---I tried them with socks and they just looked dorky. But they are very comfortable with or without socks, although your feet do perspire a bit because of the closed toe. Still, these shoes have never had an odor. Love them!

I know Merrell's work for me so I won't review the fit. I bought the Ocean color because it was available in my size, and it's a very strange combination of colors, not well represented (at least on my monitor) by the Amazon picture. The canvas is brownish gray -- barely blue at all, and not at all like the picture. In fact it looks more like the beige although both the shoe and the box are marked Ocean. The overlap around the heel is a pale cool green color, and the strap is brown and cream. The rubber between the sole and the shoe is beige and coordinates with the strap but not really the shoe color. Not sure I'll keep these. Wish I could find other colors!

The Merrell MJ shoe is very comfortable! I have gone on brisk 45 minute walks and did not need to change into walking shoes. Gotta luv Merrells! They fit great and really support your feet.

I am getting another pair of these shoes, after wearing the ones I have (black) for almost two years, about every day. And they still look good, and the soles are still in great shape! They have only now started to wear out in the arch. But they really are still comfy, to be honest. From day one, they never hurt. Also I have a bad back, and feet issues. With these shoes my back never hurts like it did, and my feet never ever hurt. I do have other shoes, but always tend to slip these on first. Now I am just trying to decide on a new color..? I think I may have to get a summer and winter pair. Also, I never wear socks with them. I get many 'i like your shoes' from people.

I have 2 pair of these.. an unlike one person..I have NEVER worn socks. These are the most comfortable shoes.. but all Merrel's are. I wear these all the time. I have navy and black and getting ready to order another pair for a trip to Alaska. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I can not believe you would be disappointed
